Craftsmanship

The wood is sculpted and carved using both modern tools like pantographs and traditional tools such as gouges and chisels. This is followed by the decoration and finishing of the furniture, highlighting the company’s mission of harmoniously blending traditional techniques with innovative methods. Key techniques include silvering and gilding, with the manual application of gold and silver leaf. Additionally, Venetian and Florentine decorations replicate designs from the 14th-century Florentine style or 18th-century Venetian style, using both old-fashioned products like animal glues, gypsum, shellac, hot stamps, and rollers, as well as modern technologies like water-based paints or mechanical tools like airbrushes. The company is also well-known for its skilled use and remains the sole practitioner of the ancient Florentine "Guazzo" technique.

Our Hand-Decorated Furniture and Their Creation:

The company was founded in 1973 by the carver and decorator Andrea Fanfani, who, after learning techniques and gaining knowledge while working at the most renowned artisan workshops in Florence, decided to start his own production, both classic and innovative. Over the years, Andrea was joined by his two sons, Marco and Roberto, and the company is now recognized worldwide as one of the leading names in Italian classic furniture.

The company operates in two facilities of about 3000 square meters in Ginestra Fiorentina, the founder's hometown, approximately 10 km from Florence. It employs highly qualified, yet young and updated staff, and collaborates with external partners to promptly meet the refined needs of its clients. With over 400 series production items available in numerous finishes and further customizable, and a wide range of fabrics and leathers, Andrea Fanfani Srl creates pieces for entire villas, from living areas to bedrooms, or unique items rich in tradition and charm that endure over time.
